Ronald Bordelon is the Chief Facilities Officer for the Louisiana Department of Education Recovery School District and oversees all aspects of the $2B School Facilities Master Plan, the largest school disaster recovery program in US history. As former Chief Executive of a privately-held real estate development firm, Ron brings a unique blend of both public and private sector approaches to disaster recovery and large capital programs. Ron was appointed to leadership roles by two Louisiana governors, having served on the Louisiana State Board of Commerce and Industry implementing billions of dollars in tax incentive programs for development projects, and the Louisiana Public Facilities Authority Board of Trustees, a conduit issuer of over $26B in taxable and tax-exempt bonds for capital projects throughout the state in education, healthcare, industrial, and other sectors. Ron is also a board member of the Delgado College Foundation, as well as various economic development organizations.
Admitted in both State and Federal Courts as a real estate and construction expert, he is supported by multi-state licenses in real estate, appraisal, construction, and various professional certifications. Ron holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Development, and is ABD earning a Ph.D. in Global Leadership and Organizational Development, presenting at international conferences in London, United Kingdom and Montreal, Canada. Ron developed both Corporate Facility Planning and Commercial Financing Strategy curriculums as part of a Master of Real Estate program, and serves as an Associate Professor for Villanova University in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.
