Dan is a Registered Architect in Arizona and has been registered in Colorado and Texas as well. He has been practicing for over 40 years, since he was 16 years old. Dan currently serves as the staff Architect for the Arizona School Facilities Board (SFB), for the last seven years. Dan has participated in the design and construction of over 20 new schools and spaces since joining the SFB on behalf of Arizona students. Dan has had the honor of working on hundreds of school projects in his functions at the SFB. As owner of Demland Design, Dan had worked with several private school districts and was the representing Architect for multiple pre-schools. Dan is a building code and accessibility specialist holding ICC certificates for commercial plan reviewer and accessibility plan reviewer/inspector. Dan sat on Phoenix Mayor’s Commission on Disability issues, where he vice-chaired the Architectural, Accessibility, and Design Committee. Dan is a published author of over 30 articles, writing on a variety of subjects including school security and facilities. Dan has been married for 18 years and has three children. Dan and his family reside in Phoenix, Arizona.
